Yep, that's right. Some guy ordered a motorcycle from a private party in Italy on Ebay, sent the money and didn't get his bike. Ooops, Ya done been scammed, Ace.

Now Ebay has millions of classifieds and runs advertisements for everything from pencils to multi-million-dollar real estate, in much the same way that your local paper runs classified ads. I have bought and sold on Ebay for years and every single item has been exactly as described, including a pristine touring motorcycle, purchased for numerous thousands of dollars a couple of years ago.

Look, I'm sorry ya got ripped off, Sport, but personally I wouldn't order a bike from outside the United States under any circumstances - it isn't like there aren't enough Gold Wings, Harleys or even Urals hereabouts from which to choose, but hey - sue Ebay? Nothing like paying a lawyer to whine for ya.

Apparently this angry man is lashing out and some sorry ambulance-chaser is willing to take his money. Hey pal, ya got ripped off - you fell for some lying SOB's phony ad - despite the "Ebay Guide" that advises severe care in transcontinental dealings. Suck it up and don't make it worse for the rest of us by attacking Ebay, which is nothing more than the place you found the offer you didn't have enough brains or common sense to check on. How likely is it that someone would (or could) get a Shyster to sue the classified section of the local newspaper if that car they bought was a lemon? Not very, Bubba..

Ebay is just the messenger. Any attempt to kill said bringer of classifieds should not fly. They didn't screw you, buddy, some dirtbag in Italy did. Yeah, you probably can't sue the bastard, though maybe your next vacation should be to Italy. And bring a baseball bat.

The moral is to be careful whenever you order anything - Ebay offers reviews of sellers and buyers, as well as their own independent escrow services - which is the one to use, since the abovementioned scam may very well have included a fake escrow account.
